Job Purpose and Scope:
TapKids is the name of our Children’s ministry at Tapestry LA Church and is led by a team of staff and volunteers. God commands us to teach children His ways (Deut. 6:4, 7; Proverbs 22:6). Our mission at TapKids ministry is to equip children with tools to live for God’s story and design, teach them to love God, and love others. We consider it a gift to co-labor with the families of Tapestry L.A. in teaching our children the Word and laying a solid foundation of faith in Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.TapKids ministry is currently seeking a (half-time/part-time) Children’s Director who will oversee, recruit, train and implement all programming for children preschool through 5th grade. Essential Functions/Primary Duties
Children’s Director will work under the spiritual guidance of the Lead Pastor Charles Choe. This position will primarily oversee both the Sunday team and the events team and provide supervision to the TapKids coordinator.Primary Duties
Lead weekly Sunday TapKids’ program
Prepare curriculum and programs
Resource inventory and classroom set up and tear down
Identify, train, shepherd, and encourage all TapKids volunteers
Connect with parents and welcome new families
Oversee seasonal church-wide special events
Recruit and train volunteers
Provide administrative support, data entry
Scheduling and attendance of meetings
Manage budgets
Experience & Qualifications:
Experience working with children is essential
2+ years prior experience working with a children’s ministry
Previous management and/or teaching experience preferred
Strong administrative skills required (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pro Presenter, Keynote, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous financial/budget experience preferred
Ability to foresee and address needs for the children’s programs
Flexible approach to changing priorities and duties
The ideal candidate would have a deep understanding of the Tapestry LA Church vision and culture
Early Sunday mornings and some weeknight hours required
College degree or equivalent experience required; seminary is preferred
